1 Corinthians 9:1-27

Paul defends his rights as an apostle, including the right to material support, but explains that he willingly gives up these rights for the sake of the gospel. He describes his approach of becoming “all things to all people” in order to win some to Christ. Paul compares the Christian life to an athlete’s discipline, urging believers to run the race with self-control and purpose so they may receive an eternal reward.
