John 1:1-13

John 1:1–13 proclaims that the eternal Word existed with God and is God, and that all things were created through him. This Word is the source of life and light, shining in the darkness despite opposition. Though the world and even his own people did not recognize or receive him, those who do receive him are given the right to become children of God—born not by human means, but by God himself.
