1 Corinthians 1:18-25

Paul contrasts the wisdom of the world with the wisdom of God revealed in the cross of Christ. While the message of the cross seems foolish to those who are perishing, it is the power of God to those who are being saved. Paul explains that God, in His wisdom, chose what appears foolish and weak to shame the wise and strong, so that no one can boast apart from Him. Christ crucified is both the wisdom and power of God.
