Palm Sunday & Easter

Apr 5, 2026    Daniel Hancock

After His resurrection, Jesus appears to seven disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. They have been fishing all night without success, but at Jesus’ instruction, they cast their net again and catch a large number of fish. John recognizes Jesus, and Peter rushes to Him. On the shore, Jesus shares a meal with them, demonstrating His real, bodily resurrection and continued fellowship.

After breakfast, Jesus restores Peter by asking him three times, “Do you love me?”—mirroring Peter’s three denials. Each time Peter affirms his love, Jesus commissions him: “Feed my lambs,” “Tend my sheep,” and “Feed my sheep,” entrusting him with pastoral responsibility. Jesus then foretells Peter’s future suffering and calls him once more: “Follow me.”
