GITKOG&BF,
Brett

1. What are some ways we can actively engage those we do not currently know in our faith family and outside the church for the sake of building relationships?
2. What are the primary factors that keep you from "putting in the time"?
3. What are some good practices you have launched that assist you in walking with people through struggles and suffering, in confession and away from sin, in joys and times of blessings?

Hey Brett….

1. I think we can just always say “hi” or shake a hand to help someone feel noticed/acknowledged. And then after encountering them after a few visits then begin to ask them the “how are you questions?”, etc…which then can lead into a conversation/invitation to our small group.

2. I think what keeps me from “putting in the time” is just pure disobedience. I need to take those “small steps of obedience”!

3. If someone is hurting, struggling or rejoicing- I try to make it a point to reach out privately in some way…..text or face to face conversation to touch base with them - follow up. If it is a rejoicing situation - I try to make sure excitement, hugs and smiles are shared.

If they are struggling/hurting - I try to make sure I definitely am praying for them and their situation - but I also check in with them but not labor through a conversation if I realize they don’t want to go deeper.
