Hebrews 7:1–10 establishes that the priesthood of Melchizedek is greater than the Levitical priesthood. Since Jesus is a priest "according to the order of Melchizedek," His priesthood is superior, eternal, and able to accomplish what the Old Covenant priesthood could never fully achieve.
